T.O.E. runs a small audio engine on your machine. it handles playback, DSP effects, and mesh networking for peer-to-peer listening sessions. the website connects to it automatically when detected.
the engine listens on localhost:3847. it never phones home, never sends telemetry, never opens ports to the outside world. your machine, your audio, your rules.
without the engine, the website still works — it falls back to browser-based audio. the engine just makes everything better: lower latency, higher quality, real-time DSP, and the ability to broadcast.
all binaries are signed. checksums available at checksums.sha256.
